About the Special Function Hospital

Our hospital is engaged in the following activities as a Special Function Hospital authorized by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare.

  • Provision of advanced medical treatment
  • Development and assessment of advanced medical treatment technologies
  • Conducting of training in advanced medical treatment techniques
  • Implementation of systematic management and control of consultation-related records
  • Provision of medical treatment for patients referred to us by other hospitals and clinics
  • Compliance with other requirements prescribed by ministerial ordinances and other regulations

* The Special Function Hospital system was introduced in June, 1992, when the Medical Service Law was revised. Designated university hospitals, including ours, as well as other advanced treatment hospitals, must be equipped with the mandated staff and equipment to provide advanced medical treatment, and basically should consult only with patients who come with a letter of introduction from local hospitals and clinics.
