• 熱帯地住民に見られるヒトの長期暑熱順化機序に関する研究
  　日本人および熱帯地住民（タイ，アフリカ）を対象に，人工気候室において温熱負荷や運動負荷を 加え，核心温（口腔温，鼓膜温，直腸温，食道温），皮膚温，局所発汗量，汗腺のアセチルコリン 感受性（定量的軸索反射発汗テスト）を測定し，熱帯地住民の暑熱順化機序を検討している。 熱帯地住民は暑熱環境下において，非蒸散性熱放散（対流，放射，伝導）に優れ，日本人に比べ少量 の汗で効率よく（無効発汗の抑制）体温を調節出来ること，また，熱帯地住民の発汗抑制は中枢性 （発汗閾値体温の高温側へのシフトとゲインの低下）および末梢性順化（汗腺のアセチルコリン感受性 の低下）の両者によることが明らかになった。 長崎大学熱帯医学研究所環境生理およびタイ国 チェンマイ大学医学部生理学教室 との共同研究である。
